Identify Theft

The State legislature passed a bill to enable Tennesseans, who are victims of identity theft, the option of freezing their credit, without charge. If you are a victim of identity theft and submit a valid investigative or incident report or a complaint with a law enforcement agency or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the fee will be waived.

It is the consumer's responsibility to contact each of the three credit reporting agencies to request the freeze.
