OAA (Older Americans Act) Title IIIB

Authorizes the state to plan and fund services at the sub-state level, which includes Area Agencies on Aging.  In order to be eligible seniors must be 60+ years of age.

OPT (Options) State funding

This is a program designed by the Tennessee Aging and Disabilities Network to provide consumers with information, assistance, and in-home services.  Making the most of an adult’s independence and abilities through support and assistance in their own homes.  Another purpose of this program is to assist seniors and other adults with disabilities with information about additional resources and services in the community, so they are able to remain as independent as possible and continue to live in their own homes.

F/C (Family Caregivers) Title IIIE

The Aging Commission Family Caregiver Program seeks to identify, educate, and support Family Caregivers through the offering of information, education and services to meet them where they are in their caregiving responsibilities.  Eligible for all adults caregiver caring for an older person over 60 years old, i.e., parent, relative, spouse, or another individual.  A grandparent or relative, 60 years or older, caring for children age 18 years and under and those who are affected by mental retardation or developmental disabilities.
