Adult Care (Sitter Service)
In-home respite may be provided by giving the caregiver an opportunity to take care of personal matters or simply to rest. One-on-one companionship may include assisting the care recipient with hobbies, reading, or promoting socialization. Respite care is considered to be temporary, substitute support or living arrangements to provide a brief period of rest for caregivers. Under the Family Caregiver Program, respite is caregiver focused. Respite should be regarded as an outcome, not a specific service.
